Many of the visitors who visit the
Lincoln Park Zoo, are interested in exotic animals. What I’ve noticed is that
many of them are very interested in learning about the animals they are
observing, and I’ve decided to give them something more than just a learning
experience. By giving the visitors a chance to make a difference in the world
we live in today, by informing them on why they should make a donation to the
WWF, and how their donations will be used to make a difference in the world.
Why is
this topic good for general visitors? What are your goals for the project if a
visitor engages with it?
Most visitors come to the Lincoln
Park Zoo to learn more about certain wild animals that they would not usually
see in an everyday environment. Through there learning experience, I believe
they should also be informed about a few of the endangered species that the
Lincoln Park Zoo has within their park. My goal is to inform the visitor, how
their donation towards the WWF can make a difference, and why they should
consider donating to the organization.
Media
format?
Poster. Informative Pamphlet about
the WWF along with the issues of endangered species around the world.
Research
for this particular media format? Why is it appropriate (given your goal,
skills, accessibility, etc.)
Visitors within the Lincoln Park Zoo
are constantly forced with information all throughout the park, by personally
informing the visitors as well as handing the visitors a informative poster /or
pamphlet will make a huge impact within the community. That is why I have
chosen to work in this direction with the class assignment.
Access
Venue?
During the visitor
peek hours, so that more visitors can have the opportunity to be informed and
have the chance to make a donation to the WWF.

Why WWF and not one of the many other conservation organizations?
ReplyDeleteI don't see how this involves any of your own work - will you be making your own original WWF pamphlet and poster? If so, why would that make sense given the fact they already have their own information?
The project is supposed to be about giving the visitors a new understanding based on materials you've developed - doing PR for an existing organization wouldn't seem to accomplish this.
I am confused by your proposal. I think you need to reconsider it from scratch.
Hi Chris, Stephanie here. I am wondering what advancements you have made with your project?? It seems you are passionate about WWF's cause, which is great, but I think as an artist, you should try to render this passion into something a bit more creative. Maybe story-telling? Maybe focus in on the endangered species you mentioned at LPZ and tell their story in a new type of way that will naturally raise awareness about WWF's mission.
